3 accused of drug crime for meth inside a residence

On Behalf of | Aug 9, 2014 | Drug Charges

A 26-year-old was recently arrested and accused of manufacturing an illegal substance. The Illinois man supposedly made meth in a residence in Pekin County. The two owners of the residence were also arrested, and all three persons have been accused of drug crime.

Just before 7 a.m., the authorities raided the residence, and they purportedly found a meth lab somewhere in the house. The authorities do not believe that the two owners were involved in the actual process of making the drug, but they were arrested and charged with possession of meth precursors. The 26-year-old was arrested on the following day in East Peoria, but he supposedly operated the alleged meth lab within the residence in Pekin. He has not yet been issued formal charges in the case, and he was being held pending a bond hearing.

Supposedly, a child was said to have lived in the Pekin residence, but it is unclear whether the child was actually there at the time of the raid and arrests. If the investigators can prove that a child actually did reside there, then — if convicted — the two residents could face up to 60 years imprisonment. As for the owners of the resident, the man’s bond was set at $25,000, and the woman’s was set at $30,000 (apparently due to a prior drug-related proceeding).

The alleged cook was expected to face charges presently for his alleged drug crime. Meanwhile, all three individuals would do well to begin focusing upon their criminal defenses as the cases head to court. They have the right in Illinois to make decisions in their defense that they feel would produce the best outcome in their specific circumstances.
