Man crashes car into home, charged with DUI

According to police reports, an Illinois man reportedly crashed his car into a Chicago Ridge home while he was allegedly intoxicated. The incident happened on March 21 around 3 a.m. at a home in the 10600 block of Austin Avenue.

Officers with the Chicago Ridge Police Department responded to the home after receiving reports of the accident. Upon their arrival, they reportedly found the 27-year-old man and his three passengers standing outside of the home. The man’s 2012 Ford Fusion was smashed into the home, which police state was significantly damaged.

The 27-year-old man was taken into custody. At a bond hearing later in the morning, the man allegedly failed a field sobriety test and then refused to provide breath or blood samples for testing. Prosecutors claim the man was glassy-eyed at the hearing. The court released the man from custody with electronic home monitoring imposed as a condition. Reportedly, no one was injured in the accident. The man was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and multiple traffic violations. It is unclear when he is schedule to return to court.
