Anonymous tip leads to arrest of 4 men on heroin charges

A search of two locations by the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group in Georgetown, Illinois, uncovered an allegedly major heroin supply ring. After months of investigation, a tip from an anonymous source informed law enforcement of an impending heroin delivery from Chicago. Search warrants were then authorized for the two properties.

One property was the residence of a 28-year-old man, and the other was a house believed to be used as a place to stash drugs. A sergeant from the county’s enforcement group said the raids resulted in the arrests of four men. The 28-year-old was described as one of the county’s largest heroin dealers.

Authorities charged him with calculated criminal drug conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver along with street gang drug conspiracy. His bond was set at $1 million. The other three men, all in their 20s, received similar drug charges, but their bonds were for lower amounts.
