On Behalf of | Oct 20, 2012 | Drug Charges

An Illinois man has been accused of a drug crime after his home was raided. Authorities executed a search warrant in the wake of an investigation by two separate law enforcement agencies. The man is now facing several drug crime charges.

Investigators were tipped off about the home. During their investigation, they were able to obtain evidence through surveillance of the residence and areas where items may have been purchased to manufacture the drugs. Authorities have stated that the meth house was located in a neighborhood where children frequently played outside.

The accused is now facing several charges, including aggravated participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamines and unlawful possession of methamphetamine manufacturing chemicals. All of these charges are felonies. The man is being held at a local jail on a $150,000 bond. Three other people fell under suspicion and were arrested, but were later released pending a further investigation into the alleged crimes.

It is likely that this man will have an uphill legal battle ahead of him. All of the drug crime charges against him are felonies, meaning he could be sentenced to a lengthy jail term if he is convicted on any of the charges. Fortunately, he is considered innocent until he is proven guilty and he will have the opportunity to refute the charges against him in an Illinois court. It is important that he understands the severity of the charges against him. Consulting with a knowledgeable criminal defense attorney will help him understand the charges and what is at stake.
