Illinois woman faces drug charge over alleged possession

A woman has been jailed and her child taken into protective custody after police executed a search warrant for her home on April 17. The 21-year-old woman was arrested by the West Central Illinois Task Force and faces a drug charge of alleged unlawful possession of both methamphetamines and marijuana. Her child, 3 months old, was removed from the premises and taken into protective custody.

Felony charge filed in alleged shooting in Illinois

An Illinois man who claims to have accidentally shot a friend in the chest is being held in police custody ahead of a possible Sept.16 trial date, according to police. The Galesburg resident has entered a plea of not guilty against the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter as well as reckless conduct.
